Summary:
Today’s academic institutions, medical centers, and research facilities are looking for agility, easier management, and access to more compute resources to handle their increased data analysis demands. Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), for example, is one field where the ever-increasing data production rate often outstrips analysis capabilities. In this workshop, Andreas Wilm, an experienced genomics researcher and Cloud Solution Architect from the Microsoft Singapore will present and demonstrate Microsoft solutions that help Bioinformaticians to scale their research. Andreas will discuss the Microsoft Genomics service, which gives you the ability to easily analyse genomic data in a fast, robust, compliant and secure way. He will furthermore discuss and demonstrate powerful cloud-based data analysis tools and services. Participants will get a chance to participate in a hands-on lab session on Azure HPC.
