Date: 29 April 2024 (Monday)
Time: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Venue: Lecture Theatre 1, G/F, William M.W. Mong Block, 21 Sassoon Road

Speaker: Dr. Nan Fang, Founder and CEO of Singleron Biotechnologies
Talk Title: Uncover cellular heterogeneity with advanced single cell multi-omics technologies

Biography
speaker
Dr. Fang earned her PhD in immunology from University of Iowa, MBA from University of Wuerzburg, and BS in Biology from University of Science and Technology of China. Prior to founding Singleron, Nan led the Universal NGS Product Development team in QIAGEN, Germany, where she established the GeneRead and QIAseq NGS library prep product portfolio and was part of the Life Sciences Business Management Committee at QIAGEN.

Abstract
High throughput single cell RNA sequencing has greatly advanced our knowledge in nearly every biological field.  Beside gene expression level, other players in cells are equally important to the cellular functions. In this seminar, Dr. Fang will discuss recent development of the single cell multi-omics techniques that enable detection of RNA turn-over rate, genetic variants, protein and protein glycosylation together with transcriptomes at the same single cells; as well as their potential applications.

Company
