Professor Ailong Ke
Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics Cornell University, USA

Date: Tuesday,  14-August-2018
Time: 10:30 a.m.
Venue: Seminar Room 6, LG1/F

Summary:
Professor Ailong Ke uses Biochemistry and Structural Biology tools to study RNA biology. He has made fundamental discoveries in structural basis for CRISPR interference and Riboswitch. His recent publications include:

  • Structure basis for RNA-guided DNA degradation by Cascade and Cas3, Science, eaat0839 (2018).
  • How type II CRISPR–Cas establish immunity through Cas1–Cas2-mediated spacer integration, Nature 550 (7674), 137 (2017).
  • Structure basis for directional R-loop formation and substrate handover mechanisms in type I CRISPR-Cas system, Cell 170 (1), 48-60 (2017).
  • Structural basis for promiscuous PAM recognition in type I–E Cascade from E. coli, Nature 530 (7591), 499 (2016).
