The ability to make brain-wide recordings of neural activity at the resolution of single spikes in single neurons is revolutionizing our ability to understand the neural circuit basis of behaviour. This revolution has been spearheaded by the introduction of Neuropixels: next-generation silicon probes which allow thousands of neurons to be recorded simultaneously from dozens of brain areas. Neuropixels probes are being used by over 1000 labs world-wide.

This conference will highlight how Neuropixels probes are being used across different species to understand the function of neural circuits in health and disease.

The conference has two components:

1) Symposium (28 September): open to all, featuring world-leading experts in Neuropixels recordings.
