Body Donation Programme
The HKU Body Donation Programme, managed by the HKU School of Biomedical Sciences, reflects the profound generosity and commitment of Hong Kong’s community to medical education. Since 2012, over 10,000 donors have registered, with more than 80 donations annually, enabling students to gain vital hands-on experience with real human bodies. These donors, once living individuals with families and friends, choose to contribute their bodies to support the training of future healthcare professionals. Their selfless act allows the School of Biomedical Sciences to provide authentic anatomical education and advance biomedical research. We honour and respect these Great Body Teachers for their invaluable contribution, recognising that their generosity helps shape compassionate, skilled medical practitioners who will serve society for generations to come.
