Biography
Dr. Sebastien Thuault's portrait

Sebastien is the launch editor of Nature Aging. Originally from France, he obtained his PhD from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom and performed postdoctoral research in neuroscience at Columbia University in New York City. He joined Nature Research in 2011 and served as a Senior Editor at Nature Neuroscience until 2019, when he transitioned to Nature Communications to steer the Neuroscience and Psychology team. In 2018, he worked as a Publishing Manager focusing on the proposal to launch Nature Aging and took over the direction of the journal in March 2020. Sebastien’s keen interest in aging originally stems from his years of editorial work with neuroscientists studying neurodegenerative disorders, stroke and brain aging. Since joining Nature Aging, he has expanded his knowledge and interests to many other areas of aging research. Sebastien is based in the New York office.

Abstract

The seminar will feature a general introduction to the Nature Portfolio, followed by a more in-depth presentation of Nature Aging, including the journal's mission and organization, our content, and several of our editorial processes. I will share detailed information on what to expect when submitting to the journal, how the editorial team selects and evaluates what we publish, with an emphasis on primary research, and I will introduce some of our publishing policies and editorial initiatives. Throughout, I will share some advice on how to best approach the different steps of the publishing process, including the submission, revision, rejection, appeal and acceptance of research manuscripts.

ALL ARE WELCOME.
